Abstract

Congratulations to the author for their compelling narrative about life and death in “Too Stubborn to Die”.  The reader is immediately absorbed into this gripping story and taken for a terrifying ride as our main character is suddenly hit by a car running a red light, and it just won’t stop moving; our protagonist caught underneath scraping along the asphalt at an alarming speed.  They are forced to recognize in the midst of their panic that they very much want to keep living; there is so much still to see, still to do. Will they survive?  Vividly written and thoughtfully presented, this narrative is most deserving of the recognition it is receiving as Honorable Mention in the Jan Rehner First-year Writing Award.
